Absence from UK letter

Post by pbpk123 » Sat Dec 18, 2021 10:49 pm

Hi,
I am on Tier-2 and applying for ILR. I was absent from UK from 12/03/2019 to 29/04/2019 for total of 35 days (33 annual leave + 2 bank holidays). And this was with my previous employer. Do I need to provide the letter from previous employer stating that these absence days were authorised? Or just e-bank statement of absence period is enough to show that I was fully employed and paid during that time?
Thanks

Just enter them in the form. The rules now do not require letter from previous employers

Thanks Zimba

I am going to apply without any letter from my previous employer regarding absence. I am choosing priority service and will update here on progress.

Thanks

Hi pbpk123,

Do you have an update on your application? I note Zimba's reference to the changed guidance which no longer requires letters covering these kinds of absences from current and previous employers but nonetheless the Gov web application still prompts you to upload letters regarding <180 day absences. Presumably the web application has not been updated properly but I wanted to see how you get on.

The online form is not always accurate. It is generic and may not reflect the most recent changes in the rules. You are required to follow the rules

Is your ILR approved without the absence letter from employer?

Hi guys,

I'm on the same boat about previous employer's absence letter as my previous employer is not responding to me :(

Although the days of my absence during that employment was not more than 30 business days (of that employment period) I still wanted to get it to be safe. It was such a relief for me to see Zimba say it's not required anymore. Can I ask since when the rules have changed and where it indicates?

thanks so much!!

Hi Zimba,

I have made 41 travels during the last 5 years, and I was able to enter only 35 of them as the form doesn't allow me to add more. Seems like there is a limit. How should I proceed in this case? I am thinking to provide a separate doc with all travel dates and explain that I couldn't enter them to the form. Would that be fine?
Please note that I am within 180 days limit.

Many thanks
