Unpaid leave - financial requirement

Post by ichaudry » Fri Jan 21, 2022 2:23 pm

Hi,

I put in my wife's spouse visa application in October 2021. My basic salary a month is £4000, but I took unpaid leave in August 2021, although my basic pay remained the same on the payslip, under it says unpaid leave
-£2820. What will happen to the application will this be an issue?
I've been employed with the same company for nearly 2 years. I also submitted my p60, contract and 12 months payslips/bank statements.

I am very worried about what will happen :(

So what was your income for that month If? If for the month of August 2021 you still earned £1550 or more while on leave you should be fine.

"Any period of unpaid maternity, paternity, adoption, parental or sick leave in the 12
months prior to the date of application will not be counted towards any period relating
to employment, or any period relating to income from employment, for which
Appendix FMSE provides"

It's best if you apply under Category B as your unpaid leave £2820 will not count.
My opinions should not be constituted as an immigration or legal advice.
