Fiance to Spouse VISA

Hi All,

Hoping this is an easy question - but somehow they never seem to be!

My fiance, who holds a UK Fiance VISA and is in the UK, will be applying for a spouse VISA as soon as we're married.

What happens if her fiance VISA expires, whilst we're waiting for the spouse VISA application?

The fiance VISA only lasts for 6 months. Given spouse VISA's can take 3 months or more, do we pre-emptily request an extension? Or must she apply for the spouse VISA abroad?

Nothing happens. Her fiance visa conditions continue while an application is pending for the spouse visa as long as she has applied and paid for a spouse visa before the fiance visa expiry date

So in your opinion, she doesn't need to leave the UK whilst her spouse VISA is pending?

It's frustrating that I can't find any documentation of this online! Do you know if there is an official email address/department I can contact, so I have it in writing?

If you marry and apply to switch to the spouse visa before the expiry of the finace visa then do not need to leave the UK.

No she does not.
