South African passport renewal

Hello I applied for a renewal of my SA passport on the 25/10/21. Does anyone have experience of how long it would take to receive?
If anyone has any actual experience of receiving this in 3/4 months?

It can take many months. When I last did my daughters renewal, we waited 7 months.

Was looking at my options. As a duel citizen I cannot enter SA with my British passport. Planning on travelling in July. Looks like I may have to request an emergency certificate. (unexpected due to my dad just being diagnosed with cancer and only months to live)

You might be ok to travel with proof you have applied for the da passport and you should be allowed entry to sa.

Or apply for the emergency passport.
