12 months earnings Period

Post by bossvikas » Wed Nov 12, 2008 6:47 am

Hi
I had a query regarding the Earnings period for which points can be claimed. The Guidance Notes quotes

"The applicant can claim points for previous
earnings in any single, consecutive 12-month period
during the 15 months immediately before the date of
applying".

I have the following queries:

1. Suppose I apply on Dec 15 2008. Can I show earnings from Sep 15
2007 - Sep 14 2008 since this does fall in the 15 month period before
Dec 15 2008? ? Or does it have to be Oct 1 2007 - Sep 30 2008?

2. Also, in that case, the salary slips I will show are :

Sep 2007
Oct 2007
.........
July 2008
Aug 2008

Will my salary for Sep 2007 be considered half of what I actually
received since I am claiming points from mid-Sep 2007 - mid Sep
2008 (will it be pro rata?) or will the full salary for Sep 2007 be
considered?

3. Since salary is monthly in India, I will not submit the salary for Sep
2008. Will that be ok?

Thanks in advance

1. That is perfectly OK, your dates need not be starting from month start, you can start it from Sep1 thru Sep30, no issues.

2. Your series of payslips are fine, your salary for Sep-2007 would be considered in full rather than half, since they only see that if the amount is deposited into the account in the duration rather than what time it is applicable to.

3. OK, you do not need to submit Sep-2008 salary slip

On top of bossvikas queries, i have one question. If you claimed your previous earning till Aug 08 and submit your application on Dec 08, what about your maintenance fund, are you going to show your 3 months (Oct, Nov, Dec) bank statements which your pay paid in? Do we need show the pay slips just to proof that the amount of the money is coming from earning?

You might have meant until Sep08.

Maintenance funds should be shown three months prior to application date.
No need to show pay slips for Oct, Nov, Dec as for maintenance funds we do not need to show the source.[/quote]
