Travelling while waiting for Replacement BRP

Hi all
Quick query - please could I kindly ask if I am still able to travel overseas whilst waiting for my replacement BRP to be (1) approved and (2) delivered?

Background
1. I am based on the UK
2. Royal mail lost my previous valid BRP but subsequently found it months later
3. Before it was found, i reported it lost and it was then cancelled.
4. I then applied for a replacement BRP and am still awaiting for the approval and delivery.
5. I now have the old BRP (which has been cancelled but still before its expiry date).

Could I kindly ask if I can still travel, and if we can still use our old, cancelled BRP? Has anyone had the same experience?

I've heard mixed views - some say it is not worth the risk as the Home Office can cancel the existing replacement BRP application. Others said that it is fine as a replacement BRP is not an immigration application.

Any thoughts would be most welcome. Thank you.

I would not advise I did the same things travelled to my home country without my BRP card which I could not find before my travels and I’ve been stuck here since January did my replacement brp application on the 17/01/2022 and submitted my supporting documents using the IDV app on 24/01/2022 and still got nothing, home office only sent an email asking for additional supporting documents on 30/03/2022 which I did send but since then I got nothing
