First-time passport child traveling without re-entry visa

Post by Narbukra » Wed Mar 23, 2022 1:02 pm

Hello

Anyone recently traveled with a baby who holds a first-time non-EU passport?
Since processing of children re-entry visa applications has been suspended until 31st May, I am wondering how we could travel with our baby who has his first passport without any prior re-entry VISA.
As customs in Ireland will not stamp into his passport when leaving Ireland, there will be no evidence that the baby is resident in Ireland.

We applied for re-entry visa and the officer returned the application without processing it.

What's the residency status of your child, on what basis are they in the State? If they are an Irish citizen - Stamp 6 maybe? If not - possibly email the unit responsible for that (or even better, send a letter) to get a letter confirming child's residency status that you can at least fall back on.
