5/10 year route ?

Hi,
If both parents/child live together, on 7 year child route it's 10-year route even if Financial/English language is met? Believe one parent needs to have sole responsibility or both parents are living separately is the way to achive 5 year route (7 year child)?

If a child is British Citizen (all living together), are the rules still same i.e. 10 year route even if parents can meet English/financial requirements?
