Main applicant visa for 5 years and PBS dependant for 3 years

Post by MarkCa » Sat Apr 23, 2022 10:35 pm

Hello,

Is it possible that main applicant for skilled immigrant visa applies for 5 years and that their husband/wife apply for 3 (with goal of extending it when the time comes)?

They would come to the UK together (at the same time).

This way they would both be eligible for ILR in 5 years. The only reason for PBS dependant applying for 3 years is to save money on health surcharge (they would make one more payment in 3 years when they earn more money).

I am aware that I started another topic recently, but it is on another subject and I believe in case someone searches later it might be easier this way. If they should be one topic, worry about starting another one.

No, the dependent will get a visa for the same length and duration as the main visa holder

And hence no saving on health surcharge
