Passport application - submission of original passport

Hi all. My wife had her citizenship ceremony last week, she entered the UK on an Indian passport. We were unaware that the Indian passport had to be submitted alongside the passport application.

We need to go to India in 3 weeks, we thought we could apply for the passport and travel to India on Indian passport since there is a 90 days grace period. Unfortunately can't wait to return back from our trip and apply for a passport as there would be a period when she won't be able to travel. Her job demands her to be travel ready.

Is there any way that we can expedite passport application or get the indian passport whilst they are processing her passport application? many thanks

First passports are very difficult to fast track. Not impossible but difficult. There has been reported delays of passport renewals being delayed generally, so no guarantees for a 1st time issue.

Aren't you supposed to return an Indian passport when you get another citizenship? How are guys planning to keep both passports?

You are supposed to return your BRP card after your Naturalization as it becomes invalid. How did you plan to travel back to UK?

The 90days grace period is to look for a Passport surrender slot and not to travel as per HCI.

Also, UK Passport is taking 2-3 months now. I had to miss a couple of work travel trips but no other way out.
