Question about the 28 days rule for spouse visa ext.

Post by marsupilami » Mon May 23, 2022 11:42 am

Hi all,

we plan to submit an application for spouse visa extension this Thursday, and among other things, I have:

- the proof of employment
- the payslips
- the bank statements uo to last month

they have all been issued from within 28-days of the planned date of submission

My question is about the following: I have received my payslip for this month (May) but it will appear only in my bank statement next month (June). I was thinking of taking a screenshot of my online banking portal, if that's acceptable? Or do I have to wait my bank statement next month?

If I submit this Thursday and have a biometric appointment in a while, does the 28-days rule refer to 28 days before the date of submission (this Thursday, in which case I will need a screenshot) or does it refer to 28 days before the biometric appointment date (in which case I can still submit Thursday and wait for the next bank statement to add it to the application).

any insight will be most appreciated

the 28 days refers to the application date, which is the date you submit and pay online. The biometric appointment date is irrelevant to this.

You should try to download a transaction list etc and submit a complete document or go into the bank and ask them to print one for you. A single screenshot is unlikely to be sufficient. You require 6 months consecutive and complete bank statements to meet the requirements.

Ignore June and go back one month from the beginning, that way you will have 6 months worth and mention in the cover letter your most recent latest
