My friend received the approval today was dated 20 May and including swearing the oath of fidelity. They asked to return within 30 days and not mention anything about the ceremony..

Well it's good news for your friend but it's not really helpful for other people waiting for approval.

These people are annoying. Does that mean the ceremony will no longer hold? Some of us got an approval letter lastweek without the oath of fidelity letter and was told to pay within 10days.

He is not annoying. He was trying to help by informing us that some people still receive the fidelity by post. I think it's very helpful.... It gives an idea and this is what this forum is about.

I wasn't referring to him. "These people" I meant staff working at Inis not him.

Anonymous petitions have little to no credibility. If you strongly believe in something and want to be taken seriously when appealing to a representative of the Government department, then you need to speak openly and use your real name. There's absolutely no reason to hide behind initials like if you're afraid of something.

Could you please share the ‘official link’ to confirm the credibility of your post below? Thanks.

I think instead of public or anonymous petitions there is higher chance to send an email to your local TD requesting more ceremonies. They might bring it up at parliament which will be directed to Justice Department, which will have more direct impact.

Just google who is my TD and find your TD using the website and send email to those TDs.

I don't think you understand how petitions work. You have to use your name and contact details to create an account before starting a petition. If it gets enough support, it goes to the decision makers and If they have any questions they get in contact with the person who started the petition.

Not remotely afraid of anything Vorona, but thanks for the concern.

"Response by Minister for Justice if her Department will consider organising more frequent swearing-in ceremonies to speed up the naturalisation process or if she will authorise a simpler form of swearing-in process"

Planning for additional ceremonies in December 2022 is currently underway, and these plans will be informed by the June ceremony.

This is fantastic news! This means they are still sending the oath of fidelity form via post, potentially for a few more months until the next in-person ceremonies in December. Keeping both systems makes sense to clear the backlog

I think Irish Citizenship ceremonies are special in the fact that they are usually held at certain times to make sure all the new irish citizens can come and celebrate together, not like in the UK and other countries where its usually seen as no more than an administrative formality held in a small room.
