Delays in Skilled Worked Priority Visa

Post by raosmita3003 » Thu May 26, 2022 1:36 pm

Hi
I along with my family(2 dependents) had appeared for a biometric appointment on 19th May 2022 under the Skilled Worked Visa Category(Priority service-Employer change).
It was a priority service and I have not received any updates on the outcome, today being the 5th working day.
Are there any delays in processing and if I dont get a response today(which is the 5th working day) can I ask for a refund?

Hi,
Same here. Applied on the 11th of May, priority service (5 days), change of employer, used the app. I got an email 2 days later saying saying it normally takes 10 days to receive a decision but they need more time. The email didn’t say how long it would take or why they need more time, so I’m just waiting. It’s been 12 working days now.

I read somewhere that you can ask for a refund after you get a decision.

Thank you for your inputs.

I am also waiting and have requested the immigration lawyer to contact UKVI to confirm the status of the application.
It's so frustrating that even when you take priority service you won't get decision on time. :(

Hi

I have not received any update on my visa decision yet.
It's 8th working day now with no update.
The immigration consultant from the employer said they will raise a query post 10 working days
So in waiting mode yet.
My case is just an employer change and that too in country.
TBH it's no use taking priority service 😕

I submitted biometric information on the 13th of May - In Country Skilled Worker Visa (with 1 Dependent) using the Priority Service. Still Waiting for a decision :(

Wrote to Home Office and got the following response "unfortunately there appears to be an IT issue which has been raised with our IT department for a resolution. We can't give a time frame but we'll keep an eye out on updates."

Has anyone received such a response? Do you know if this is normal?

Hi Bhushan Pradhan

How did you manage to contact UKVI via email?
The incountry option just gives a telephone number and when you go ahead on option 2 you hear a standard message in IVR and does not connect any further to talk to any support person.

Can you please share any email address or the way you managed to contact UKVI?

Regards
Smita

I have an Immigration Consultant helping me so I am not entirely sure on how they contacted the Home Office.
I suspect they may have used the service at https://www.ukvcas.co.uk/contact-us/general-enquiry
See if that works.

Got the below email when contacted UKVCAS

Thank you for your enquiry.
UKVCAS has no influence or information regarding the status of your application once it has been submitted so we are unable to respond to any status enquiries.
UKVI are not able to provide updates on the status of your application. UKVI will review your case and advise you of the decision in due course.
If you would like to complain about the length of time taken to receive the outcome of your application, we recommend you to contact UKVI directly, you can find details on how to do so here:
https://www.gov.uk/government/organisat ... -procedure

Unfortunately, no Update for me either :(.

Can one of the moderators / experts provide guidance here? Any insights on how to tackle this OR whether this is a broader issue across a lot of applications applying in-country?

Kind regards,

No updates received so far. Do you know if we can reach out to UKVI on Email within UK to check the status. I couldn't find any pointers online.

I am planning to travel to INDIA on 23rd July , I yet to book biometrics appointment tentatively around 21st June. Is it too risky to apply now considering the priority VISAs are taking time? I opted for priority visa.

Hi Sunny
I had tried calling UKVI using the below link but no luck as you hear the standard IVR message and does not get connected to any agent.

Hi Raosmita,
I haven't heard from them 🤷🏽‍♀️
I have decided to stop worrying, it will come when it does.
The start date for my new job is also the 4th of July, hopefully it's done before then 😊

Hi All - I finally got a decision last night.

I had called UKVI yesterday morning and that may have helped:
You can call 0300 790 6268 - select options 2 -> 4 ->1 and then if your application is past their SLA, you can raise an escalation request (they will take some basic details from you such as UAN, DOB etc...).

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,
