Need Advice<COS Date & Skilled worker processing Delays>

Post by raosmita3003 » Wed Jun 01, 2022 3:04 pm

Hello Admin/Experts Team,
I have submitted my application for Skilled worked visa on 19th May 22(priority service- 5 days and employment change) with 2 dependentsand is a incountry application. I have not received any update on my application yet or any email seeking any clarification from UKVI.
I have couple of queries
1.The new employer is asking me to join from 4th July and my current notice period is 1 month.
As I have not received any decison should I resign or wait for the decision to arrive?
2. Does the COS start date which is in my case 4th July impact the visa application processing timelines as its a future date?
3. The immigration consultant from Employer working on my case seems to have made a mistake in my mother's first name in the submitted application form? Would that cause any delays for the application?
4. How can I contact UKVI to understand why the application is delayed? I need an email address as the incountry phone service does not work. I have tried it multiple times.
https://www.gov.uk/contact-ukvi-inside-outside-uk

Any help or advice would be really great as I am unable to get any sleep from past 5 days as nothing has come through yet

Regards,
SRao

Have you made a biometric appointment at UKVCAS or are you using the UK Immigration ID Check app?

Wait for a positive decision before you resign otherwise if your application fails you'll be without a job.

Unlikely but are you sure your mother's name was required for the application? Generally, to correct mistakes in an application one can email the online help team on ApplyOnlineE-Support@homeoffice.gov.uk . You must include:
•your name
•what you are applying for (Skilled Worker permission)
•a description of the problem, Include screenshots of the problem, if you can.

You’ll usually hear back within one working day.

Thank you for your reply and guidance.

I had applied via UKVCAS for biometrics at London Marks Lane.

the 5 working day processing time for priority application counts from the day you attended the biometric appointment at UKVCAS

Hi Team

As there are delays to overall visa processing due to Ukraine visas being processed, does someone know how long is it now taking to process the priority skilled worker visas?
I have no update on my application since I have submitted my biometrics on 19th May via UKVCAS.
My joining date with new employer is 4th JULY 2022 which now does not look feasible as decision is still awaited. This puts me in an ambiguous state.

Any guidance is much appreciated on what can be done as next steps.

To add to my earlier point
My notice period with current employer is 1 month and 4th July cannot be met with decision awaited.

You can start working for your new employer at a later date than the one in the CoS, keep the company informed about the current situation.

Also you can contact UKVI and explain this situation: UKVI help

thats good news, wanted to ask a question as i am awaiting UKVI decision on my skilled worker visa extension.
Do we receive a decision letter first and then BRP?

The decision mail comes first and then the BRP delivery if you have applied inside UK.
You also get the BRP dispatch mail however I did not receive it. I got decision email and then BRP.
Hope this helps.
