Ukrainian refugee family visa and passport surnames are different

Post by leon2019 » Sun Jun 05, 2022 11:53 am

Hi,

I have a Ukrainian refugee mother and her daughter arrived in the U.K two weeks ago on 3 years 'Homes for Ukraine Scheme' visa. When this Ukrainian woman applied for her visa from Poland to come to the U.K, she filled up visa forms online and entered her surname incorrect (spelling mistake). The surnames on their passports are differently spelled.

The Home Office UKVI granted her and her daughter 3 years visas and probably didn't see this mistake. We noticed this mistake that on her visa and passport surname are spelled different. We are worried that when it comes to their visa extension or any further leave application, it might be a big problem.

I would be grateful if you someone can advice us on what to do in this situation to correct it or what's the best thing to do. They are ukrainian and are already in huge stress as well as this is added on stress.

many thanks

from ECB 19.1:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... ment-ecb19

If the error relates to a vignette endorsement and is raised within 3 months of arrival in the UK the applicant should contact UKVI International Sheffield:
EntryClearance.Errors@fco.gov.uk

They must include a scan of the vignette with the email..
Suggest she also includes a scan of the personal data page of her passport as well as a note about how the error arose
Personal opinion, not professional or legal advice
