Can I request foreign passport?

Hi,

I need to travel for an unexpected emergency as my mother is on her own and in trouble overseas. I need to get there but my current passport (foreign) is at Bootle passport office as I had applied for my 1st british passport on the 6th of June. Reading comments I should not expect my documents/new passport any time soon.

Have you, or do you know if it would be possible to request them to send me my current passport (the foreign one and the one I sent with my application)?

What other option do I have? My mom is in Spain so I need a passport to get there.

If wishes were horses. Not sure you can do that. Let's just assume that you can for a minute. If you do travel to Spain, how do you plan on entering the UK back?
