Post by Quickresponse » Mon Jun 20, 2022 10:48 pm

Hello

Quick question:

Thanks in advance

No I don't think you can - when your Visa category changes from FLR FP to FLR M or vice versa it resets your clock back to ZERO.

FLR FP 10 Year wait for ILR
FLR M 5 Year wait

What did you do in the end?

I did exactly this and applied for ILR using the new rules. Will have to wait and see.

I’m in my 7th year of FLR FP, I would really appreciate if you share your outcome :) my next extension is due in April but I’m thinking of moving onto FLR FM and applying for ILR too.

Also is it okay if you can share your timeline thanks and good luck.

So I had Leave to remain based on private life twice (based on 18-24 and lived more than half life in UK), then when I applied to renew a third time, they gave me FLR M as I am married to a British man. I applied for private life as usual, but I just accepted what they gave me.

Timeline so far:
Life in UK test: 1st July 22
(I have a UK degree, so don’t need additional tests)
Submitted application: 2nd July 22
Biometrics: 8th July 22
I know the average wait for ILR is 4-5 months atm for standard applications (they had no priority or super priority even though I spent ages refreshing day and night).
Happy to come back and write when they get back to me.

Good luck to us both!

Thank you so much for explaining it in details, that gives me a hope, I do have a UK degree, and also meet the criteria for FLR FM, I think I probably won’t wait - get my visa category changed before last extension and apply ILR - best wished and let’s keep it posted.

Regards
