Skilled Worker Visa Employer Switch - Dependents visa query

Post by user0911 » Wed Jun 22, 2022 11:48 pm

Hi

I'm currently on skilled worker visa and family as dependants valid till July/2024. I'm switching employer do my dependants have to reapply with me? or can they wait till July 2024 and then extend to bring it inline with my visa.

UKVI website suggests below:
Apply from inside the UK (extend or switch their visa)
Your partner or child can apply to extend or switch their visa either:

at the same time as you apply to extend or switch your own visa
at any time before their current visa expires

Any inputs will be really helpful, thanks in advance.

Yes, they have to reapply along with you.
The earlier BRP for your and dependents is valid only with past current employer.

The dependents do not have the main applicant's CoS mentioned on their BRPs. I checked this some time ago and was told that the dependents can apply at the same time as the main applicant, or anytime before the expiry of their current visas. It says exactly the same thing on the UKVI website

This is the exact wording on Gov Uk, and it clearly says, they can apply anytime before their current visa expires...

"Your partner or children will need to apply separately to update their visa. They can either apply at the same time as you, or at any time before their current visa expires."

Exactly. @user0911 has quoted this in their question, and @Hampshire has presumably read it, but they both appear to think it means the opposite of what it says.
