Extending Tier 2 Visa and ILR

Hello everyone

I want to check if I am taking the correct route to ILR.

This is my immigration history in the UK:

Tier 2 visitor student - from 05/10/2010 to 04/04/2011

Tier 5 temporay worker - from 22/07/2015 to 22/07/2016

In 2017 I returned to take a permanent, full time job - SOC 2231:

Tier 2 visa - from 02/08/2017 to 20/08/2020

Then I changed to a new employer, new visa with the same SOC:

Tier 2 visa - from 29/03/2018 to 18/06/2021

I’m using the dates displayed on the BRP cards.

If I understand well:

- I have to apply to extend my Tier 2 for up to 2 years, at least 60 days before my current visa expires, in June 2021. I will need a new CoS even though I will stay with the same employer, but a new RLMT won’t be necessary.

- Once I have 5 years under the Tier 2 visa (counting 5 years from the date on the first Tier 2 visa), I can apply to ILR, at least 60 days before the visa expires. This will be in August 2022.

Please, is this correct?

Presumably you mean tier 4 student visa and not tier 2. These two visas are irrelevant to ilr based on tier 2 general 5 years ilr.

Yes, you need a UCoS to apply for an extension. Your new visa will have an expiry date of 28/3/2024 as you can hold tier 2 for more than 6 years.
- Once I have 5 years under the Tier 2 visa (counting 5 years from the date on the first Tier 2 visa), I can apply to ILR, at least 60 days before the visa expires. This will be in August 2022.
Not sure where you got the "60 days" from. There is no 60 days rule. You can apply for ilr no sooner than within 28 days before the 5th anniversary of the date your visa was issued, ie 29/03/2023 minus 28 days.

Isn't the date when my first Tier 2 Visa was issued (02/08/2017) going to be used to calculate the total time under this visa?
In this case the 5th day anniversary will be in 2022.

Can I apply for ILR with a minimum of 5 years and maximum 6 years under Tier 2? Just to be clear.

Correct yes. Typo on my part of 2023.

Dear all

I'm gathering my documents for my ILR application.
I work in the NHS as a nurse since August 2017.

After 11 months working in the NHS I changed to a job in another hospital and consequently had another sponsor.

All went smoothly with this transition but now the first employer seems to be unable to provide a letter with my paid leaves.
I was given the certificate of employment for the first job.

I had 7 days of paid leave during those 11 months.
I had in total 93 days out of the UK in the last 5 years.

Please, if I add a letter with these leave dates, will that be enough?

Can you please explain why I don't need the letter with paid leaves from the first employer?

At the end of my application there's a list of documents which includes this:

"If you do not provide these documents, your application may be delayed or refused.

(Required)

Letter(s) from employer(s) detailing reasons for work-related absences including periods of paid annual leave from the UK and Crown Dependencies for Miss XX"
