Applying for passport after Naturalisation from abroad

Post by Caterpillar22 » Sun Aug 21, 2022 4:49 pm

Hi all,

I have a relatively specific question I was hoping someone might be able to help with. I've been living in Ireland for the last 7 years and got my Naturalisation certificate in May of this year. Unfortunately I've had to temporarily come to the UK for medical treatment since June and foresee being here for another 3 months or so.

I'm in the UK legally and can provide the docs (i.e. letters from NHS to prove my address, identity, etc.) to apply for my passport from here but don't know whether that would raise any questions/issues (i.e. being naturalised in IE but suddenly applying for the passport from the UK)? I would love to get this done with ASAP but can wait until I get back to Ireland if necessary.

There is no issue whatsoever.
