Tier Graduate visa

Hi,

I wanted to ask if it is possible to leave the country while the application is pending for a Graduate visa. Basically, my friend needs to leave the country to visit his father. His student visa will end in Oct and he won't be able to come back till Jan 2023. So when he applies for the Graduate visa before he leaves and his accommodation with the university is ending on the weekend. Could anyone also be able to tell how long the visa takes and if it is possible to get faster service by paying more?

He cannot leave the UK while an application is pending, it will be considered withdrawn. Once his student visa expires, if he is out of the UK, he won't be able to return to the UK either.

Usually processed within 8 weeks.
