ILR query for 3 year old

Post by anands » Tue Oct 04, 2022 3:04 pm

Hello Moderators

I need some help regarding my case. Me and my partner applied for our ILR in Feb 2022 (Standard route). We still have not received any decision. My daughters Tier 2 dependent visa expires on 14 oct. She is UK born. We were hoping to apply for a British citizenship for her as soon as we get our ILR. But unfortunately the processing of the ILR application is taking longer then usual.

Now in this situation should we apply for her ILR separately or just wait for a decision on our application.

Please help us as we are really stressed about this situation.

Thank you

A UK-born child (under 10 years) does NOT need ILR or even a visa to be registered as a British citizen. She can overstay without any issue and be registered as British via form MN1 when you get ILR
