Can you bring spouse on pension benefit/credit on spouse visa?

Post by barokut » Fri Oct 21, 2022 1:15 pm

Hi,

As mentioned in my previous post, this message is for my father trying to bring over his wife to the UK. I mentioned he's claiming Universal Credit and he's currently 64. He's eligible for pension at age 66, in 2 years.

Can he bring his wife over on pension benefit/credit alone? He's also filling in forms for PIP as he has several illnesses/disabilities.

Please let me know when you can. Thanks.

Not sure he can as he wouldn't meet the financial requirements.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!

If he is in receipt of specific benefits (Page 8 ), he'd need to demonstrate at least adequate maintenance and accomodation.

Specific benefits are
(i) disability living allowance;
(ii) severe disablement allowance;
(iii) industrial injury disablement benefit;
(iv) attendance allowance;
(v) carer’s allowance;
(vi) personal independence payment;
(vii) Armed Forces Independence Payment or Guaranteed Income Payment under the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme;
(viii) Constant Attendance Allowance, Mobility Supplement or War Disablement Pension under the War Pensions Scheme; or
(ix) Police Injury Pension;
