My wife's spouse visa is issued just for 28 months.Issue date is 25 august 2022 and expiry date is 31 december 2024.Is that normal?

All BRP's would be replaced by 2025. Seems like there would be a digital process of leave validation.

So yeah, you can say it's normal.

We don't know yet how digital status will be set up, but I would expect HO to provide you with a digital status that will last the full 30 months; otherwise you might be able to just wait the time out by varying application and delaying biometrics, for example.

Thanks.Do other people issued visas for 28 months or its just me?They mentioned visa for 2.5 years and we applied and paid for 2.5 years.I am only worried its just me and i need to contact UKVI to rectify it if its clerical mistake or they issed same visas to other people as well.

That's the date until which BRPs are given.

You do not need to tell UKVI if your BRP expires on 31 December 2024 but your immigration status (for example, your visa) allows you to stay longer.

You will not need a BRP from 1 January 2025. You’ll be able to prove your immigration status online, without a BRP.

UKVI will update their information on how to prove your immigration status in early 2024. You do not need to do anything and your immigration status will not be affected.

If you have a decision letter, it should specify until when the permission is granted, if I understand correctly.

It is the validity as depicted on BRP as the HO is scrapping the BRP system by last day of 2024.

Thanks everyone.I did check the letter and it mentioned there that nothing to worry about.Its the final date for BRP card and actuall expiry date will be mentioned online.Thanks again

That's correct, you can use the right to rent option on gov.uk to check
