Hi there

My husband got his indefinite leave to remain earlier this year.

He is disabled and I was wondering if he is now allowed to claim for PIP?

We do plan on saving up to apply for citizenship. Would it be worth waiting until he has citizenship before applying for PIP?

We do not want to do anything wrong.

He can claim if he is eligible.

Claiming Benefits have no effect on a citizenship application.

Thank you for letting us know.

He is disabled and has a long term condition.

He had no recourse to public funds when he was on FLR which meant we couldn't apply but now he has been granted ILR (settled) we wanted to be sure he could apply for PIP before we did apply. I checked the back of his BRP and it didn't say anything this time about recourse to public funds.

Its good to know he can apply.
