Out of Country After Citizenship Application

Post by Sham321 » Sat Jan 14, 2023 12:02 pm

Hi All,

After we submit the application, the rule is 'We need to let the department know if we are out of the country for more than 6 weeks'. Can someone please clarify if we can go more than 6 weeks but it should not be in one go say for exapmle, we can go out for 5 weeks in one go and then another 3 weeks in another go, the total is 8 weeks but it is less than 6 weeks in one go?

I know it is strict 6 weeks rule in a year before we submit the application but my query is related to after we submit the application. Appreciate your input on this.

ISD states this as follows -
https://www.irishimmigration.ie/how-to- ... ralisation
If you are outside the State for longer than 6 weeks after you submit your application
It certainly doesn't matter if it's in one go or not; what matters is periods of time, in which trips were made.
Don't think anything changed drastically since last time you asked. If you want to be safe, why not alert ISD every time you're unsure?
