ILR application - 5 years completion question

Post by RedBlue » Mon Feb 13, 2023 1:53 pm

Hi All,

I will be applying for ILR for my wife(5 Year route). She originally entered the UK on a spouse visa on the 30th Jan 2018 and has since had another extension but the second extension took a while due to COVID and the visa validity is till the 12th of June 2023. She completed 5 years on the 30th of Jan 2023 but just wanted to know if I have to wait till the 28 days before the 12th of June 2023 or if can she apply now as she has completed 5 years.

Thanks in advance.

She could have applied on 2nd January, 28 days before the 5th anniversary of the date she entered the uk.

No need to wait till closer to visa expiry.
