30 Hour Childcare - 1 parent on ILR and other parent on Skilled Visa

Post by sujit89 » Sat Mar 04, 2023 4:11 pm

Hi Immigration Board Team,

I need an advise on 30 hour Childcare scheme. I am on ILR (via 10 year route) and spouse on her Skilled Worker visa( with no recourse to public funds)

Am I eligible to claim the 30 hour childcare funding?
Please guide.

Thank, Sujit

Yes as you’re not subject to immigration control you can claim the 30 hrs - subject to meeting the other conditions of entitlement.

This is the gov.uk link that you can read for yourself, to confirm that you can apply for the 30 hours free childcare.
https://www.gov.uk/30-hours-free-childcare
Your immigration status

To be eligible for 30 hours free childcare, you must have a National Insurance number and at least one of the following:

British or Irish citizenship
settled or pre-settled status, or you have applied and you’re waiting for a decision
permission to access public funds - your UK residence card will tell you if you cannot do this

If you have a partner, they must have a National Insurance number too.
