Tier 1 General - Dependent - Maintenance Funds

Post by dingdon » Mon Dec 22, 2008 11:28 pm

Hi,
Iam in UK For around 2years and recently got Switched to Tier 1 General from Work Permit.
My wife accopained me initial 11 months in UK and she went back to india for around 10 months. she is joining me shortly.
My wife got Work permit dependent visa till Dec 2010.
iam planning to apply her Tier 1 Dependent visa once she reaches UK.

Can any one please confirm the maintenance funds that i should show.

800+533 = 1333 ( main applicant is in uk for more than 1 year)

or

800+1600 = 2400 ( Main applicant is in UK for more than 1year but dependent is not )

My only worry is that she might not be allowed an entry in UK - you are now Tier-1 and she is a Work Permit Dependent (whose main applicant has moved to some other category). Let me caveat this by saying that I am not sure on this and let others say on this issue but my hunch is she should apply from India.

Sorry I did not answer your question because I thought the other issue was more important to highlight.

Thanks Push_HSMP,
i have already checked with public visa enquires ( PublicVisaEnqs@fco.gov.uk) and they have confirmed that it is not issue for my wife to travel with her dependent work permit visa.
