My bf in South Africa is just filling out the application for a visitor visa.
I think we have most of the documents as per the gov.uk guidance but can I run it by you all?

He has,
His SA passport and ID book
His last couple of payslips
A letter, headed paper, from his employer stating length of services, salary and leave granted but due back to work on X date, 2 weeks stay, mentioned I’d been to Cape Town to see him last years.
Letter of invitation from me stating will support him, very brief timeline of how we know each other.
Last two payslips of mine
My Passport (copy)
Last three months bank statements

Also does anyone have any timelines for processing Visitor visa in Cape Town?

A letter, headed paper, from his employer stating length of services, salary and leave granted but due back to work on X date, 2 weeks stay, mentioned I’d been to Cape Town to see him last years.

Last two payslips of mine provide 3 corroborated by bank account statements

Show as much as possible evidence of strong ties to RSA to convince ECO applicant will return to home country.
Proper depiction of your own work, financial and accommodation situation, what cost for the visits are you bearing and any other assistance you are providing during his stay.

I can get six months of MY bank statements
Also six of MY payslips no problem
Do I need my contract also?

Would a letter from my landlord suffice to show i rent and have done for 22 years? I’m not sure I can find my tenancy agreement.

Besides a letter from his manager at work on headed paper confirming a date he is due back to work, do you have any other ideas on what he can supply?
He has his daughter in SA that he’s put as a dependant in the application. Would her birth certificate naming him help prove that link?
What other document could he provide?

It's less about your circumstances in the uk

He needs to prove his ties to SA, eg financial, social, family, property, to convince the ECO he will leave the uk after his visit. Also how much money he has for the trip.

An alternative would be to holiday in Republic of Ireland as he would get a visa on arrival and does not need a pre approved visa
