Renewal for British Passport from IRELAND

Hi
has anyone applied renewal for British passport from overseas recently ? I send off my current passport to HM Passport Office Durhum last week from IRELAND . can anyone confirm that will they return my current passport along with new passport or will they send my passport separately ?
and how much time they are taking these days from IRELAND ?

HMPO quotes the standard processing time of 10 weeks ... you may be aware that HMPO staff are due to go on strike at various times ... so times may/will vary. They don't provide a specific number for applications from Ireland.
They normally return documents separate from the new passport (certainly in the UK).
