Verification call from ukvi for parents visitor visa

My in laws have been in the uk before for 3-4 times
Never ever received this call, but this time my wife got a verification call and ask about invitation and our accommodation.
And it’s taken more than 2 weeks , usually it’s been max 10 days
Anyone else got a call ?

This has been known to happen. It's a verification exercise to verify authenticity of the invite.

It appears random selection of applicant for calls and not much report from forum members this may be due to how far and in between it is to get called up.
