Authorizing statutory provision Statutory Declaration

Post by tingtingjosel » Mon May 01, 2023 11:18 am

Hi everyone,

Juts noticed that my solicitor has left W2 field in Statutory Declaration "Insert authorizing statutory provision" empty. Instruction says that solicitor should fill in this W2. What should solicitor put there? I've searched this forum, on person said it should be left empty, another says that solicitor should fill it.

Anyone can advise?

Solicitors should not fill in W2. In fact as things stand at the moment, no one should fill in W2. Where in the instructions did you see that solicitors need to fill in that part?

Application form page 13:
"You should complete boxes A1, A2 and A3 and your authorised witness should complete
W1, W2, W3 (either W3.0, W3.1, W3.21, W3.22, W3.23, W3.24 or W3.25), W4, W5, W6, W7
and W8."

He falls into other categories that are listed there, doesn't need to specify authority.
Not a qualified immigration adviser. Use links and references given to gain confirmation and/or extra information.

You are understanding it wrong.
Selecting solicitor and crossing out everything else is how W2 should be completed. That text box should not be entered as currently no other occupations are allowed to be an authorised witness, except for the few that have already been listed there.
