Continuous Residence Evidence - Passport

Looking at evidence for continuous residence and non-eu wife does not have NI record. Can we use passport as has relatively little time out of UK and has stamps arriving and leaving Philippines and stamps into UK ? Reduces some of the challenges on evidence for every month. Understand that passport can be used as evidence when applying for citizenship but not so clear on settled status
