first UK passport

Post by niklas999 » Fri Jun 23, 2023 2:06 pm

Can newborn baby get UK passport if we just have registered the birth? If not, whats the procedure?
I got ILR in 2019 (EEU), and wife holds PSS non EU citizen. We married in 2021in Argentina. I am living in UK since 2014, and wife joined me in UK in apr 2022.

Depends on the nationality (and marriage status) of child's parent(s).

As you hold settled status, your child is British, assuming s/he was born in the UK. Apply for a passport directly.

If at least one of your parents was a citizen of an EU or EEA country when you were born
You’re a British citizen automatically if when you were born all the following applied to at least one of your parents:

they had citizenship of a country that was in the EU or the EEA at the time
they lived in the UK
they had ‘indefinite leave to remain’ (ILR), ‘settled status’, ‘right of abode’ or ‘right of re-admission’

Quote your EUSS reference number on the application as proof of status.

Baby doesn't have a registration certificate document.

Can you skip the question?

What is the question before that part?
