Start Date change on BRP

Hi Team,

I am in the process of switching jobs and i have applied a skilled worker visa.

My Visa Applied on: May 18th
Biometrics provided on: June 1st
Decision email: June 27th

My employer have put the start date way too early in the CoS. Now if a decision has been made - How does my employer change the start date?

My last date with the current employer is July 24 and i ideally want the BRP to start from then.

Any help is appreciated.

The CoS had 20th Mar 2023.

Employer can add a note in the SMS system. You can't change the cos once used or a brp card once issued.

BRP is issued from date of approval, not a date you want it to be valid from.

So if the employer change the start date as July 24 in the SMS system. I can continue with my current employer till then and have no issues. Is my understanding correct?

Hi,

My new Employer is sponsoring for the first time and they are saying they are not able to add note to SMS system.

My CoS is Used and my BRP has been issued.

My share code suggests I am eligible to work from 27th June 2023 till 03rd April 2028.

Now if I have to start on 24th July - I have told them to add a note in SMS system. They suggest they are unable to add a note in SMS system as it suggests my visa is in use.

What should be my next steps?

My new employers says I need to speak with Home office and amend it - this doesn't seem right.

There are many things they can do in the SMS system. Adding a note is one of them. They don't add a note to the CoS, they add a note based on the drop down options.

Ask them to contact the business helpdesk.
