DPS Dependants ILR application requirements

Post by drengshehata » Sun May 14, 2023 4:00 pm

Hi,
I am preparing the ILR application SET O) for my wife and kids I have a daughter over 18 y and included her in the mom's application. In the check list required docs, I found only the passports and BRPs of all family members. There's is no requirement for English test or life in the uk test. I do believe such proofs are required for individuals over 18 y, are the rules still the same of changed recently, please?
My daughter was granted leave to enter the UK as a child dependant.
Thanks for your advice.
Regards

No change. If aged 18 or over, then requires KoLL under 319J(f)
The applicant has demonstrated sufficient knowledge of the English language and sufficient knowledge about life in the United Kingdom, in accordance with Appendix KoLL, unless he is under the age of 18 at the date on which the application is made.

Thanks Vinny for your prompt response. Does she still need to do B1 test if she has already studied GCSE and A- level here. Also, there's no need to submit a separate application for kids over 18y?
Thanks

Separate SET(O) application for people above 18. GCSE/A-level does not satisfy the English language requirements

Proof of English knowledge for ILR Application

Post by drengshehata » Sun Jul 16, 2023 8:41 pm

Hi Team,
I am wondering if I can apply for ILR with only evidence of passing the life in the UK test and postpone the english test to the citizenship application?

Thanks

Both LIUK test AND English B1 is mandatory for ilr. You don't get to choose to skip either.

You were already advised that all applicants over 18 need both LIUK and English B1.
