How are you notified re acknowledgement of citizenship application?

Hi all,

I sent off all my documentation for my citizenship on 23/6/23. I sent my application registered post and tracking shows it was received on 24/6/23. To date I have heard nothing.

Is acknowledgement received via a letter or email? My surname is often spelt wrong so if it is sent as an email I'm concerned it was sent to the wrong email account.

I am assuming there is no phone number I can call.

Some of us didn’t receive acknowledgment for many months - 5 to be exact for me. You will get a letter of acknowledgment in the post along with receipt of your initial fee.

It took exactly 6 months minus one day for me to receive acknowledgement.You have to be patient I'm afraid, especially with all this hassle with certificates.

It's via post, with receipt, as mentioned. And no, there's no phone.

I just received my acknowledgement letter along with the receipt by the post yesterday 01/08/23 .
I applied on 31/05/2023 , received on 01/06 . So exactly 2 months .

the letter dated 26/07. Receipt 28/07

Hopefully you will get it in the next 2 weeks or so or earlier .

Thanks everyone. I've no problem being patient, my concern was it being lost after all the work that went into it.
