CCJ and debt

Post by c4551m » Fri Aug 04, 2023 10:18 am

Hi,
Question on behalf of friend
She is separated with 2 kids, husband took loans and credit cards on her name and they got separated 3 years ago, now she want to apply for naturalisation but have CCJ and outstanding debt of around £20000, which she is unaware as He did all on her name, so does she need to declare in her application?
What are the chances as she can't pay the debt?
What if she does not declare in her application?

Kindly advice
Flro applied 23.02.14
Varied application to SET LR 3.3.14
Biometrics done 24.3.14
Approval 24.7.14
Docs received 28.7,14

How on earth your husband takes loans on your name and you don’t know? That’s absolutely a lie, ofcourse letters must have come under her name, she never open them? If you want your friend to be successful in the naturalisation application then she need to be truthfully now so people can advice her from all angles , but if she chose to stick with that bogus story then she can learn a hard way once her papers land in to home office, so advice your friend to come up with a clean story, not having British citizenship it’s not end of her life, not telling the truth she will be banned for years

How could you say that she's lying and comes up with a bogus story??.
I have posted a question just answer it, and if you can't answer just move on, no need to judge someone and be a keyboard warrior.
She has reported her innocence to police as she was victim of domestic violence, the world is not full of good people, she will put all truth in hrr application, she just want advice not your blah blah....

If you haven't done so already review the "Good Character" guidance issued by UKVI:
https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... racter.pdf
Search for "debt".
Being in debt as such is not a ground for refusal, must people are, however, if there are CCJs in place applicant must be able to show they comply with the arrangements to clear those debts.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
