Spouse visa questions help PLEASE !

Post by Muffin007 » Sun Aug 06, 2023 3:26 pm

Hello again

Ive been looking through the forum and ive been able to get some help with some questions i have but still unclear abut some. I want to bring in my husband over. weve been married back home since 2020 . Pls can you help with the following:
  • I'm owing council tax about £5000 due to a tough financial situation years back but im in sync with this year's current Council tax which i have been paying monthly. However my CT bill shows the arrears regardless, would i still be able to apply because of my debt to CT? can i just show my statements paying the CT or I HAVE to show the bill which would show the arrears?
    • Im renting the property from my mum(it is a genuine tenancy agreement). She is paying mortgage for it but living somehwere else. A lawyer mentioned that it may be an issue if she is not paying rental mortgage for the property? would this be an issue or is this an overkill?
      • I'm living in a 2 bedroom flat ( 2 rooms plus living room)? i have a 10 yr old girl and 5 yr old boy . if my spouse wants to come over, is this sufficient for accommodation? i was told i need a surveyor to give a letter that it wont be overcrowded?
        • I have not declared anywhere in the UK or told UC that i have been married since 2020 ( i got my british citizenship before being married). would this be an issue?

          Thanks for all your help

How much do you earn? You need to meet the financial criteria too.

Do you have a plan in place already for paying the arrears?

If repaying and adhering to the plan or agreement you reached then should not be a point of difficulty.
