Irish Visit/Conference visa processing timescales

Good morning all,

My spouse has submitted her Irish Conference visa application at the London Embassy on 4th Sep 2023. The travel is due end of September. The VFS website says a decision will usually be made within 10-14 working days but may vary depending upon the time of the year. Has anyone applied for the above type of visa recently? If so, what were the decision timescales like?

It varies.

People applying in different embassy mentioned the embassy may consider the application until the travel date is near.

We just invited a dozen Indian contractors to come to Ireland for a conference next week. The applications were filed 3 weeks ago and everyone received their visas today.

Hi both, thank you very much for your responses. Good to know they consider applications close to travel dates. The travel is scheduled for the 26th of this month and still we haven't heard back. In case no decision is made before the travel date, will the visa still be issued later on? If it is issued late, it won't come in handy as her conference would already have taken place.

Morning, the visa was processed on 20th September. It took 11 working days to process it. Thank you all for help!
