ICT Tier-2 to Skilled Worker (Dependents need new visa?)

Post by winadsingh » Wed Sep 13, 2023 4:52 pm

Primary applicant and dependents are in UK already since Oct-2021.
Primary Applicant got ICT Tier-2 visa extended from 01-Aug-2023 to 31-Dec-2024. Dependents also got their BRPs with same dates.
Primary applicant then switched to Skilled visa and gets a new BRP.
1. Will the existing BRP cards of the dependents get cancelled?
2. Are dependents required to apply again?

1 no
2 their permissions remain valid until the expiry dates, applications for extensions need only be made before the expiry dates

NOTE that there are no BRPs issued with expiry dates beyond 31/12/2014 when the system becomes digital but the expiry date of a permission may be a later date.

Thank you manci.
So 5 years from now; Primmary applicant can apply for ILR & Dependents (having spent 2 yrs on existing BRP & 3 years on the new ones) can also do it at the same time?

Yes, as long as they have 5 years PBS Dependent visa time and meet all the requirements, they can apply for ILR when you do.
