Citizenship Acknowledgement still pending

Post by Leo99 » Tue Sep 19, 2023 12:31 pm

Hi guys,

My wife applied for citizenship and send the docs in July and still haven't got the acknowledgement. Anyone in the same boat?

They don't send acknowledgement when the docs are received - it takes time.

My acknowledgement (back in 2021) took 6 months and it was still within their expected timeframe.
I think it's usually a 3 months wait nowadays, so she should just wait I'd say.

Thanks, will wait for another month so. In case no acknowledgement, is there anyway to contact them?

there is no timelimit for acknowledgement. they give 19 months (https://www.irishimmigration.ie/how-to- ... alisation/)for overall processing. you can email them for updates at Citizenship Info <citizenshipinfo@justice.ie>

You can email them, but to set your expectations be ready for a canned, non-informative response. It's probably best to prepare yourself to wait many months for any response or forward movement.

Hi Leo...
Thats very much in-keeping with my experience;
Application sent in June 2021, acknowledgement Oct 2021.

Hopefully you will move a little quicker now... I just got my e-Vetting invite in last few days

2 years after acknowledgement. God. That's sucks tbh. Hopefully mine will move little bit quicker, but Theresa lotta 2021 and 2022 to be processed.
