Family visitor visa application from India

Post by crazy_ram » Wed Oct 11, 2023 10:40 pm

Dear members,
I would like to seek your advice/opinion about application documentation for my mother-in-law's Family visitor visa application.
Situation: :
  • Applicant (my mother-in-law) is 58 year old home maker, living with her husband who is a farmer.
  • She currently do not have any regular income, all her living expenses are taken care by her husband (my father-in-law)
Application:
  • Her daughter (Sponsor) inviting her to visit us in the UK for period of 2 months.
  • Her daughter (Sponsor) have over £5,000 in the bank account to cover all my mother-in-law's expenses for the visit including travel, accommodation & living.
  • Sponsor submitting her bank statements showing funds and writing a sponsorship/invitation letter mentioning that funds of over £5000 available to cover her mother's visit expenses.
  • No objection letter from my father-in-law confirming his wife's visit to his daughter for the period of 2 months.
Questions/Concerns:
  • I have seen few posts in the forum that some applications have negatively impacted when Applicant's personal bank statements are not submitted to support the application. But however, in our case applicant is not financially active and dependent on her husband - Seeking your opinion on this point.
  • Seeking advice: How to explain the situation when applicant is not financially active (It is common in rural India where men take care of family finances & women take care of family well being)
Please let us know your opinion or advice if the documentation is sufficient or does she need to provide more documentation.

Thanks in advance
