ILR Application Date - Continuous Period Calculation (5 Years)

Post by Juggi » Wed Apr 19, 2023 11:56 am

Hi,

I am currently on Tier 2 (Skilled Worker Visa) with 5 year route. I think this question has been answered before in another thread. But I would like to sure about the continuous period calculation prior to my application.

Visa Issue On Passport - 24/12/2018
Date Of Entry In UK - 17/01/2019

Visa Issue Date - 24/12/2018
Year Start Date End Date
Year1 24/12/2018 23/12/2019
Year2 24/12/2019 23/12/2020
Year3 24/12/2020 23/12/2021
Year4 24/12/2021 23/12/2022
Year5 24/12/2022 23/12/2023
Application Eligibility 25/11/2023

UK Entry Date - 17/01/2019
Year Start Date End Date
Year1 17/01/2019 16/01/2020
Year2 17/01/2020 16/01/2021
Year3 17/01/2021 16/01/2022
Year4 17/01/2022 16/01/2023
Year5 17/01/2023 16/01/2024
Application Eligibility 19/12/2023

Question: In one of the threads it was mentioned visa issue date can be utilized to calculate application eligibility 28 days prior to end of 5 years. So based on the previous thread am I eligible to apply for ILR application from 25/11/2023 or 19/12/2023?

Would be really helpful if I could get a response on the above.

Thanks

Date of entry is irrelevant, so use the date of first visa issue date

Hi,
So is the Date of First Visa Issue Date the vignette on the passport or the Date of Issue on the First BRP?

Date on Vignette : 24/12/2018
Date of Issue on BRP: 10/12/2018

So wanted to know if the eligibility is 25/11/2023?

Thanks

Hi Zimba,

I have the same question in the this post.

I saw in one previous post (indefinite-leave-to-remain/ilr-5-years- ... 25531.html) you said that we can use the date of issue on BRP to calculate for the application date.

Here in this post, you said that we should use the date on vignette even though the date of issue on BRP is earlier than the date on vignette.

Could you please verify again?

Thank you so much.

Thanks for noticing it above. I corrected it above. The approval date is the earliest date on any document you have

Thank you for your reply Zimba.

I just see your reply to one question of the owner of this post regarding the earliest date that we should use.

It is very clear to me now. Thank you for your time to answer all our queries.

Best

Thank you Zimba to confirm the earliest date per the BRP. Appreciate your help and patience.

ILR APPLICATION - ECCTIS REQUIRMENT

Post by Juggi » Mon Nov 20, 2023 12:14 pm

Hi,

I have a question regarding the ECCTIS requirement for vetting all educational documents if it has been taught in English.

Current situation:
Masters Degree: Studied in UK taught in English
Bachelors Degree: Studied in India and taught in English

For supporting documentation requirement; even though i have a masters degree in the UK, do i need to get my bachelors degree validated from ECCTIS/NARIC

No. A UK degree on its own satisfies the language requirement

Indian Passport: Given Name Changed

Post by Juggi » Mon Nov 27, 2023 2:03 pm

Hi,

I've travelled to UK in the past with my old passport where my passport details were below:

Past Travels as a Tourist in 2004/2008/2011-2012
Given Name (E.g. Names) : Joel(My Name) Bobby (Father's Name)
Last Name (E.g. Names) : Dcruz

Current Tier 2 in 2018-2022
Given Name (E.g. Names) : Joel(My Name) Bronson (Father's Name)
Last Name (E.g. Names) : Dcruz

My dad's first name was changed and due to this my Given Name on the passport changed from Joel Bobby To Joel Bronson.

In the SET (O) form do I need check "YES" for name change or leave it "NO" for name change as technically it was my fathers name change and when I got my current Tier 2 visa with the Given Name Joel Bronson there were no issue. Additionally, I have the name change documents in English and the news paper cuttings for my dad's name change.

Would really be helpful if I could get a response on the above so as to complete my application.

Thanks

Juggi

UKVI already knows that such a name change has happened. You do not need to do anything in your ILR application
