Skilled – Independent (Migrant) Visa (Subclass 175)

Post by spatel07 » Fri Jan 09, 2009 10:08 pm

Hi
I am thinking of applying for a Skilled – Independent (Migrant) Visa (Subclass 175). I would appreciate if someone could clarify exactly what the below sentence means:

"To meet the recent work experience requirement, you must demonstrate that you have been employed in an occupation on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL) for 12 of the 24 months immediately before lodging your visa application".

I need clarification on where it states 12 of the 24 months......What does this exactly mean?

Thank you for your help.

Let me explain you with an example:

Say you are making your visa application on 1st Jan 2009,

Then you should have worked at least for 12 months between 1st Jan 2007 and 1st Jan 2009.

Your work need not be continuous. You however need employer reference letter from each employer to prove your work experience.

Hope this helps!

Note: I am no professional, so take caution on this advise!
