Rent agreement as Type B proof

Post by tmarkand » Fri Aug 18, 2023 4:38 pm

Hello All,

In Oct 2018, I signed a rent agreement for an apartment for the duration of 1 year (ending Oct 2019). Can I use this rent agreement as a Type B proof for the year 2019 as the agreement was valid until Oct 2019. Please advise.

Documents for Citizenship Application

Post by tmarkand » Fri Aug 18, 2023 4:43 pm

Hello All,

My reckonable years:
Sept 2018 - Sept 2019
Sept 2019 - Sept 2020
Sept 2020 - Sept 2022 (Stamp 4)
Sept 2022 - Sept 2024 (Stamp 4) (Sept 2023, 5 years complete)

My citizenship reckonable residence starts from Sept 2018. In Sept 2023, I will complete 5 years on reckonable stamps. I understand that for citizenship application, we need to provide residency proofs and other documentations for 5 years. In my case, 2018,2019,2020,2021,2022,2023 are the years comprising 5 years.
For which years should I submit documents? Can I skip 2018 documents altogether and provide for the rest as they are 5 years?

I would say you're fine, but no definite answer, as this system became live a few months ago -> no conclusive results.

Should be okay, but if you have something spanning for both 18 and 19 (like the rental contract), probably would be safer to use it, as it's showing your residence in '18 as well.

Citizenship Application Background section Help Needed

Post by tmarkand » Thu Jan 04, 2024 4:39 pm

Hello All,

I was filling out the form 8 and I was in the background section of the form. There is a question

Have you ever committed any offences against the laws of Ireland or any overseas country?

Should I say "yes" or "no" to this question if I have one speeding violation (penalty points)? I am confused.

Please help!

FWIW, traffic offences in the US aren't "crimes". I did my fair share of speeding in the past (no citations in IE), didn't disclose those, and was at a ceremony last month.

I can't say how they are considered in India, but as far as I know there is a distinction between minor traffic offences and criminal ones. Drunk driving, reckless driving, etc are "crimes" in some US states, but not others.
