Hello all,

How does the Surrender of Indian Passport differ to Renunciation of Indian citizenship?

How is my Indian citizenship affected if I just surrender the passport BUT do NOT apply for renunciation of my Indian citizenship?

Can I travel to India on a British passport with Indian e-visa (after surrendering India passport but not having formally renounced my Indian citizenship)?

Exactly. Surrender makes u eligible for visa. May have to do it every time for each trip.
Renunciation which is processed at Ministry New Delhi makes u eligible for OCI. Lifelong unlimited duration and frequency of trips.

You have lost your citizenship automatically when you acquired foreign nationality. Once you have surrendered your Indian passport, GoI knows you have acquired a foreign one and therefore will have to enter India on a foreign passport. Not sure what the aim of this question is.

You can always travel with eVisa on your British Passport. Don't have to even surrender for that. These are independent of each other.
