HSMP to Tier 1 in less than 2 years: can we apply?

Post by rkrohela » Thu Jan 15, 2009 10:00 pm

Hello Friends,

I am facing a particular predicament, I am planning to switch jobs. I have to show to most employers that the residual time on my visa is greater than 2 years, but I have only 11 months left on my HSMP.

Now can I apply for extension only after 13 months of my initial HSMP Visa approval?

Regards,

Rohit

Well UKBA site/guidance seems to be silent on the point of how early can one apply for switching into/ extending leave under Tier-1 while your current leave is still valid.

I think you can apply for a switching/extension anytime you want provided you have some valid reasons (this too seems to be a supposition). Now assuming that the "valid reason" assumption is true, I think saying that you are finding difficult to switch jobs because you are left with just 11 months of valid leave is not going to be helpful.
