Working Remotely

Post by prana72009 » Fri Mar 08, 2024 2:47 pm

Hi,

I'd like to inquire whether someone with ILR status is permitted to work from their home country. Is this allowed? If yes How many days max?

Thanks

Of course you can. There is no limit but bear in mind that ilr is lost if you are absent for 2 or more years.

Also check on the tax status/domicile status if you are away for more than 183 days.

Also, if you claim any benefits, you have to inform them if you will be away for 12 weeks or more and your benefits will be stopped.

Thanks CR.

I will be working for sure less than 100 days.
I hope it wouldn't be any issue.

Thanks again

That's not an issue at all.

Not sure what the question is here.

A person with ILR is allowed absence from the UK. Even if working abroad, it is still an absence from the UK and will treated like any absence for any forthcoming naturalisation application.

If the question is about taxation in the UK and the home country while working abroad, that would be a question for a taxation forum, not an immigration forum.
